I found this little plastic camera at an antique store and payed way too much for it. I liked its weird look and ridiculously parallax circular viewfinder.
Opening it up, I found a used role of Pan 127 film, a very extinct format.
I’ve always wanted to mod vintage cameras for 35mm, but many of them just don’t afford the space for a cartridge, and rolling 35mm film onto smaller spools in pitch darkness isn’t necessarily my favorite way to spend an afternoon. Luckily, after some violent modification, the Feather-Weight was ready.
Now I can wind the 35mm film from its cartridge onto the spare 127 spool, reserving the darkroom work to a simple back wind. The only issue: the cover didn’t quite fit over the cartridge.
Enter the amazing invention called electric tape. I was ready to shoot.
I’m not super impressed with the images I came up with, but what can I expect with such a crummy little camera? “magic lens” my foot. It was still a fun experiment, and I might try running some more film through this little piece of plastic in the future.
